Christmas in Winter Hill is a light hearted read perfect for the holidays, whether you're sat by the fire with snow falling outside or simply hiding from the rain in the miserable British weather. You can lose yourself for an afternoon as you get caught up in the magical world of the Christmasville festival.  
  
Of course, no good story comes without its villain and this book's scrouge is an edgy old man called Winston. As our beloved main character Krista faces a new job and a town filled with Christmas memories she can't escape, Winston becomes a true threat to her happily ever after. This book empathises with those who struggle to celebrate at Christmas, recognising that the past can haunt even the cheeriest of holidays.  
  
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novella, it's a simple and cosy read, which left me smiling as I finished. Melody has given us a gift to escape with this year, no matter how chaotic it gets.
