Honest, intelligent, articulate, insightful and with an air of urbane wisdom this book really shines for me. I can see it stinging some because it is not for those Christians that honestly believe they are on the right track but rather for those Christians that aren't sure they are on track at all - and yet are there walking the talk more than perhaps many others might be.

This book shines in a way that others don't because it highlights the fact that Christ came for sinners, that he ate with sinners, mixed with sinners and was an outsider of his time - as were many other folks we meet in the Bible. Tomlinson excels at showing that in order to be good Christians we do in effect walk the edges of being 'Bad' Christians in the eyes of some religious people, but when we do this we become better people. We live with the heart of Christ and we act with the wisdom of the Spirit, reaching out and including those who others might reject, ourselves included!

Above all it's an easy to read and understand book that's about being a real Christian, a Christian that at the heart of it might not be perfect, might even be bad in some ways, but one who is committed, engaged and walking their faith despite all of this. It's a book that opens Christianity to those outside it, on the fringes of it and just as importantly to those already inside it. A brilliant book and one perfect for any seeker or those looking to better understand their own faith from the inside out.
